About Lindsay
Since 1988, Lindsay Simmonds has designed graphics for clients in the corporate, education, publishing, culture, and retail sectors. She has worked both directly with clients and as Design Lead on larger teams. She was Senior Designer at Echo Memoirs, where she designed book covers and text pages for over 20 titles, including a 276-page retrospective book for British Columbia’s Pacific National Exhibiton’s 100th anniversary (PNE). She was also lead photo researcher and picture editor for the book, which features over 2000 photos, clippings and graphics.
Lindsay has lived and worked in Toronto, England and Bolivia. She has travelled extensively in South America, and published two popular photo and travel blogs on the region titled, “Day in the Life of Bolivia” and “The MiniBus Diaries” (since closed).
Interested in the intersection of design, photography, culture, storytelling and technology, Lindsay is curious about how these forces can unite to assist social innovation and positive change. Lindsay is interested in “design thinking” as a method for developing design solutions that inspire people to succeed, act, or respond to the world in new ways. She is impressed by the work of Sagmeister Inc., IDEO, Paula Scher and Emigre.
Lindsay is originally from Vancouver, Canada, and is currently based in Oaxaca, Mexico, where she works for clients worldwide.
