Kayaking on Lake Titicaca

There we were paddling around a headland, minding our own business, when we were overwhelmed by a flotilla of sailboats. Pushed by favourable southerly winds, they sliced past us, one after another after another. The sailors furtively waved, equally surprised to see us in our little red kayak. Hundreds of boats punctuated the horizon with bright coloured sails, looking much more like a springtime sailing regatta than a collection of working fish boats.
